Number 5

Jewellery Collection 2018-2019

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday...
One planet, one colour, one vibration. And one ring for each day of the week. This is how Marc Deloche created Collection Number 5, a 2018-2019 jewellery collection exclusively dedicated to this type of jewellery.

The hand weekly planner

Is it the ring that looks at the woman? Or is it the woman who looks at her ring? It's a mystery. Whatever the case, these gold rings, symbols of love and pomp – voluminous cocktail rings appeared during Prohibition in the United States to draw attention to the hand holding the illicit drink... – enjoy a status all their own. Marc Deloche pays tribute to them with this ‘number 5’ collection, which features seven rings of remarkable size.
‘It is one of the only pieces of jewellery that creates a special, intimate, sensual, passionate but also playful relationship with its owner,’ observes the Toulouse-based designer. ‘It deserved a collection entirely dedicated to it. I created seven rings based on the seven days of the week, taking into account the planets and colours associated with them.’

Monday

Moon Day, Lunae dies, provides energy that promotes feelings, creativity and intuition. White, sky blue, pale yellow: Monday's palette is similar to that of dawn. It is both soothing and unsettling, like this palladium-plated white gold ring, whose grooves seem to have been carved into the moon. They make the persian tone of a 27.06-carat beryl vibrate, which lights up surreptitiously when it comes into contact with a cloud of diamonds.

Ring

Monday

White gold ring
One oval beryl, total weight of 27.06 carats 5 diamonds, total weight of 0.8 carats
Total weight : 77.31 g

Tuesday

Mars is its master. Martis dies, conqueror, warrior at heart, this is the day of action. It is dressed in red and gold. The Mardi ring is built like a rose gold fortress, topped with a rectangular tower crenellated with diamonds. On its mirror-polished setting sits an oval rubellite weighing 4.18 carats, whose intense fuchsia colour makes a bold statement. Of love, of course.

Ring

Tuesday

Rose gold ring
One oval rubellite, total weight of 4.18 carats Diamonds with a total weight of 2.30 carats

Wednesday

Mercury presides over the destiny of Wednesday. A planet that promotes communication, writing, expression and intellectual jousting, the third day of the week blossoms in green rays. In two-tone gold, yellow and white, this Mercurii dies jewel springs from the hand like a two-headed Janus formed by a pair of chrysoprases, mentholated Siamese twins with asymmetrical eyes. The body of the ring, both ergonomic and organic, invites you to play with your hands.

Ring

Wednesday

Yellow and white gold ring
Two Chrysoprase cabochons, 14 mm and 16 mm in diameter
Total weight : 45 g

Thursday

Jupiter reigns over the day Jovis dies. Yellow is his colour, that of the king, the father, the spirit. The Jeudi ring embodies the attributes of power. It could be mistaken for a bishop's ring if Marc Deloche had not retained only its essential essence. A Byzantine cross in solar gold is set with an iridescent Ethiopian opal heart. The openwork ensemble seems to float amid a quartet of chalcedony and yellow sapphires, with a circle of skin appearing, as if drawn, on two phalanges of the finger.

Ring

Thursday

Yellow gold ring
One Ethiopian opal cabochon 240 x 172 mm
Two yellow sapphires, 6 mm diameter, total weight of 1.8 carats
Two chalcedony cabochons, 7.4 mm in diameter

Friday

Venus Day, Friday, brings pleasure, delicacy and harmony. Draped in pink, blue or pale green, Veneris dies celebrates promises and unions. Announcing joy to come, this XXL corolla ring reveals a firework display of rose gold and pastel stones. Dragee-coloured sapphires, raspberry tourmaline and turquoise apatite burst with carefree charm on this piece of jewellery with neo-1950s accents.

Ring

Friday

Rose gold ring
Six pink oval sapphires 70 x 50 mm, total weight of 5.70 carats, two oval tourmalines 71 mm x 51 mm, total weight of 1.41 carats, one oval apatite 118 x 79 mm, total weight of 4.05 carats

Saturday

Saturn, the planet of Saturday, reveals itself to be the planet of ascetics. The depth of black, the austerity of navy blue and the frugality of brown are enough for it to express itself. The Sambati Dies ring, in white gold or yellow gold, is a signet ring for hermits. Its meandering lines lead to a expanse of ink or ultramarine lacquer in which the gaze plunges and loses itself. A frugal and powerful ring. An abstract piece of jewellery.

Ring

Saturday

Palladium white gold ring
Total weight : 61.7 g

Sunday

Under the sign of the Sun, the Dominica dies ring exudes the joy of being together. Its spectacular dome of braided gold resembles a haystack from which perfectly cut stalks of wheat escape in profile. The harvest is precious, with an intense yellow sapphire weighing 2.65 carats at its centre, surrounded by a dew of brilliant-cut diamonds.

Ring

Sunday

Yellow and white gold ring
One yellow sapphire, total weight of 2.65 carats and Diamonds, total weight of 1.41 carats
