Platinum, onyx, diamonds... Marc Deloche has designed his ninth jewellery collection like a monochrome painting where geometric lines fragment and reassemble to create magnificent Art Deco pieces. Ten rings and two necklaces make up this series of a total, intense elegance.

“For a while now I have wanted to dedicate a collection to the Art Deco movement. This period between the wars has always fascinated me. I’m attracted to the geometric lines in objects and modernist architecture. I wanted to reimagine those striking shapes, transforming them from the industrial and mechanical into the precious,” explains the Toulouse-native creator.
In this bold artistic choice where colour disappears, Marc Deloche shines a spotlight on the nuances of platinum, signature metal of Art Deco, which he works primarily into rings with onyx and diamonds. “It’s really the only piece of jewellery that you permanently see... rings are also the form that women wear more easily, it is not hidden behind or underneath clothes”. Exclusively created in steel-like platinum, encrusted with white diamonds and black onyx, these ten bold yet timeless rings, are accompanied by two chokers.

A circle, a square, three rectangles, Marc Deloche plays with geometric shapes to create Bague 1. The piece outlines a modernist painting on the finger, embossed in onyx and diamonds.

Bague 3 / Collier 12

In Bague 3, the grooves of the platinum are enhanced by a rectangle of onyx. The strong design is softened by the addition of a rainbow of diamonds. Neo Art Deco, the clasp on these two necklaces becomes the central pattern. A very feminine design, Choker 12 combines two rows of onyx pearls. These rows surround two sheets of onyx on which Marc Deloche has incrusted two diamonds. Together the necklace is part of two half circles embedded with diamonds.

In Bague 5, the four truncated pyramids made of polished platinum adjoin a line of diamonds and a rectangle of onyx. The elegant profile of this piece is further embellished by diamonds.

Just like the porthole of crusieship, Bague 6 creates takes the form of an oval encircled by diamonds. In the centre, two pearls of onyx look out from a bed of striped platinum.

On one side a rainbow of platinum and onyx are reminiscent of the Orient and on the other the precious grooved metal work looks West. Between these two hemispheres flows a river of diamonds.

Just like Ying and Yang, two monochrome shapes face each other. The white is made up of platinum and diamonds while the black combines onyx and diamonds. The two are separated by a sliver of skin.
