Platinum, onyx, diamonds... Marc Deloche has designed his ninth jewellery collection like a monochrome painting, where geometric lines fragment and come together to form jewellery with Art Deco accents. Ten rings and two necklaces make up this incredibly elegant collection.

‘I had wanted to devote a collection to Art Deco for a long time. I have always been fascinated by this stylistic period between the two world wars. I appreciate the geometric lines of objects and modernist architecture. I wanted to interpret forms from the industrial or mechanical world in a precious way,’ observes the Toulouse-based designer.
In this radical approach, where colour has disappeared, Marc Deloche highlights all the nuances of platinum, the flagship metal of Art Deco, which he works mainly on onyx and diamond rings. "It's the only piece of jewellery that looks at you... The ring is also the piece that women wear most easily, as it is not hidden behind or under clothing." Exclusively crafted in platinum with steel reflections, set with white diamonds and black onyx, these ten timeless and unique rings are accompanied by two matching chokers.

A circle, a square, three rectangles: Marc Deloche juggles geometric shapes to create Ring 1, which forms a modernist tableau on the finger with onyx and diamond reliefs.

RING 2 / CHOKER NECKACE 11

An architectural sketch on a platinum body, a flat onyx surface is illuminated by an off-centre diamond. It fits perfectly into a semi-circle paved with brilliant-cut diamonds. Neo Art Deco, the clasp of this necklace serves as the central motif. The Choker Necklace 11 features a highly textured design tempered by two onyx rectangles and a parenthesis of diamonds. It is mounted on a row of cascading onyx pearls.

RING 3 / CHOKER NECKLACE 12

To enhance the effect of these platinum grooves, reminiscent of those found in an engine, the jeweller separated them with a rectangle of onyx. A diamond-encrusted arc softens the design. Neo-Art Deco in style, the clasp of this necklace serves as the central motif. The highly feminine 12 choker consists of a double row of onyx beads surrounding two onyx plates into which Marc Deloche has set two diamonds. The whole is framed by two semicircles paved with brilliant-cut diamonds.

With a square design, the four diamond-paved corners of ring 4 frame a striated platinum cube that holds an onyx ball at its centre.

In Bague 5, the four truncated pyramids made of polished platinum adjoin a line of diamonds and a rectangle of onyx. The elegant profile of this piece is further embellished by diamonds.

Bague 6

Just like the porthole of crusieship, Bague 6 creates takes the form of an oval encircled by diamonds. In the centre, two pearls of onyx look out from a bed of striped platinum.

This octagon of platinum with perfect proportions stands out through strength, simplicity and beauty of its outline. Only a thin plate of onyx with two bars of diamonds act as decoration.

Bague 8 is all about volume and materials, combining ridges and flat of platinum with two pearls of onyx and a vertical line of diamonds.

On one side a rainbow of platinum and onyx are reminiscent of the Orient and on the other the precious grooved metal work looks West. Between these two hemispheres flows a river of diamonds.

Just like Yin and Yang, two monochrome shapes face each other. The white is made up of platinum and diamonds while the black combines onyx and diamonds. The two are separated by a sliver of skin.
