While the striking colours seem to come directly from a tube of paint, the structured gold sends the light ricocheting off the lacquered surfaces and hard multicoloured stones. In this, his eighth jewellery collection, Marc Deloche has imagined 5 rings and 5 pairs of earrings that powerfully and playfully harness colour in its purest form.

“After all these months in the shadows, I wanted colour!”; explains the Toulouse-based creator. The bright colours found in the furniture of the Memphis movement, certain paintings by Mondrian or the startling shades in the collections of Yves Saint Laurent and Kenzo at the end of the 80s are the real inspiration for this collection, number 8.”
Bringing his concept to life, Marc Deloche has designed five sets of rings and earrings. “The ring, for me, is perhaps the most symbolic piece of jewellery, as it represents attachment and is the only one that the woman herself can see and gaze upon. As for pendant earrings, I like their movement, their joy and the way they brighten the face.” Jaune Corail, Bleu Orange, Vert Feu, Nuit Azur and Sapin Fauve, each a play on light and colour, form the basis of a jewellery collection that is as colourful as it is joyous.

CORAL YELLOW

From the side, the structure made of notched gold with Neo-forties vibes, does not even give a hint of the chromatic excitement on the ring’s surface. Jaune Corail includes a plateau of canary yellow lacquer in the centre of which rises an oval of orange stone. The fire of this coral is beautifully intensified and amplified by the surrounding diamonds. This statement piece is matched with a pair of pendant earrings where the same design unfolds in long zigzags of gold, accompanying the face as it moves.

ORANGE BLUE

Neither round nor square, the Bleu Orange ring is at the crossroads of a rectangle and a circle and could easily have been the brainchild of a modernist artist. That is of course if it weren’t for the striking flat surface in sparkling tones of blue. Ultramarine transforms into a sky blue which itself moves into glorious turquoise just the other side of half a sun of real coral. This unique landscape is further enhanced by a long line of diamonds. As for its incarnation as earrings, Bleu Orange is reminiscent of a sunset over the ocean whose rays ricochet off circles of gold and across the skin.

FIRE GREEN

A mix of three different shapes and with clear Art Deco overtones, the signet ring Fire Green has a raised frame that gives it a truly powerful, chromatic effect. In contrast to its fluorescent yellow and flame orange lacquers, Marc Deloche has inserted a malachite plate, stripped with several dense shades of green. This geometric piece is enhanced by a fine line of diamonds. The extra-long pendant earrings bring the same adornment to the ear. A veil of oblong plates in gold become an extension of the ear itself, shimmering down to the very base of the neck.

AZURE NIGHT

Imagine an open book with pages in turquoise, a spine in lapis-lazuli and margins of diamonds. That is Azure Night, a ring which stands out thanks to the glorious structure that its golden body unravels across the finger. The strict square shape is softened by the dual tones of blue lacquer. The imposing presence of Nuit Azur also pierces through in the pendant earrings where the solar golden plates, of varying widths, bring life and movement to this spectacular piece.

FAWN FIR

Resolutely and unashamedly chic, the Fawn Fir duo juxtaposes the depth of forest green with the caramel brown brilliance of a tiger’s eye. This is further highlighted by four diamonds set vertically. The beauty of the ring is in its asymmetry that extends across three different levels and enables the tiger’s eye to be seen and appreciated in a multitude of ways. The same allure characterises the earrings where the gold, worked into generous links, gives off an irresistible charm.
