Squares of silver nestled into ovals of gold, elliptical braids highlighted by a single drop of coral, this collection jewellery by Marc Deloche is hypnotic in its beauty, where a simple strand of metal can command the eye… For this, his seventh collection, Marc Deloche gives life to genuine cinematic works of art.

Inspiration… “I was doing research on textiles for the interiors of a house that I was building when I came across a set of upholstery fabric from the 1970s,” Marc Deloche explains. “This intricate combination of such rich geometric shapes reminded me of the cinematic art of Victor Vasarely. I immediately wanted to use them as inspiration for my 2020-2021 collection of jewellery built around cuff bracelets.” Split into five lots, Number 7 perfectly shows off eleven powerful jewels while reflecting the unique style developed by the Toulouse-based creator.

Géométrique

By bringing together yellow gold, white gold and silver, Marc Deloche takes squares to a new dimension. Light and repetitive, these patterns seem to constantly move over the skin that they show off to perfection. Spectacular, in the original meaning of the word, the two rows that make up the cuff bracelet are decorated, in the middle, with five hoops of yellow gold finely inlaid with diamonds. It’s partner, designed to be a negative image of the first, is a ring in yellow gold surrounded by white gold and inlaid with diamonds. It adds structure, showing off the finger with a particular sparkle and flair.

Hypnotique

An oval link, fully rounded in form, creates the structure for two pieces of jewellery that are as sumptuous as they are sensual. The first is a cuff bracelet in which yellow gold and silver threads weave together to create a unique and precious fabric, brightened here and there by storm coloured chalcedony cabochons and a sprinkling of white diamonds. The second is a pair of pendant earrings where two chains of gold and three cloudy chalcedonies, encircled by diamonds, dance, sparkling in the movement of the wind.

Elliptique

Worked flat to overlap infinitely, the slivers of silver, rose gold and white gold in the piece entitled Elliptique exudes an almost warrior-like energy. The large bracelet whose centre is set with two coral cabochons, of the deepest reds, creates a sculptural line that energises the wrist. It is worn with a pair of long earrings, in two colours of gold inlaid with the same coloured coral cabochons. Here stylised eights can be spotted, a number associated with both happiness and good luck.

Laconique

Three threads of gold and a hint of diamonds, Laconique goes to the essential. It is a pure yet, stylish design. The bracelet is a double bi-coloured bracelet with a triple thread of gold held in place by small disks inlaid with diamonds. Based on the same movement, Laconique includes a pair of earrings whose form is reminiscent of a waterfall that appear to come directly from the bastions of 70s design. These pieces are accompanied by a ring made using two colours of gold and take the form of a band that elegantly adorns the finger.

Concentrique

From the side this set of gold circles evokes the rooftops of New York skyscrapers. From the front the eccentric circles call to mind expanding ripples over water. Concentrique is more than a piece of jewellery; it is on object that we want to touch, to feel. Architectural, this pendant in gold, inlaid with a line of diamonds and two sapphire blue cabochons, is worn on a chain with large irregular links. It is partnered with a ring, whose volume is as catching for the eye as it is for the hand.
