“10 years ago when I launched my first jewellery collection, I chose animals as the theme,” explains the creator from Toulouse. “A decade later it was only natural to come full circle and return to my first love but with a stylistic twist, both more sensual and naive.” Apart from the snake, which is a very common animal utilised throughout the ages in jewellery, Marc Deloche wanted to highlight animals that appear less frequently like the toucan, the crab, the turtle, the owl, the fish or even the bee. “I chose them because they all have elements, either in their shape or colouring, which make them immediately recognisable and enable them to be presented in less figurative and more abstract ways.”
To bring them to life, Marc Deloche focused primarily on his preferred format, the ring, that he describes as “the only piece of jewellery that looks at the wearer”. Whether in yellow gold, platinum, embedded with diamonds or decorated with different coloured lacquer, he explains “I have designed this collection to comfort the finger, protecting and consoling those that wear them”. Two bracelets in gold and polymethyl methacrylate complete the 10th collection.
